Opening Speech from the FEI President to the OIE Conference on International Sports Horse Movement

The World Animal Health Organisation (OIE) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) convened in Panama to find solutions to the challenge of international movement of horses for competition. As equestrian sporting events continue to grow across the globe, and with the forthcoming Olympic Games in South America, it is imperative that fair, efficient and safe solutions are provided. Representatives from governments across the Americas, veterinarians and those involved in horse sport unite to discuss the import and export requirements and procedures for ‘high health, high performance’ horses travelling to equestrian sports events.

HRH Princess Haya is the first Goodwill Ambassador of the OIE, a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the President of the FEI.
