Acquired by in late 2013, an important part of this change in management is the development of a new website for In addition to a completely new look and feel, redevelopment of the website (started Spring 2014) involves trawling back through nearly 8,000 pages dating back to March 2006. Until recently, many Youtube videos were not available in high definition so some older videos may appear blurry. Also some links to externally hosted videos and images no longer work. Every effort is being made to manually fix broken links as we find them, but this is a time consuming task as there are a lot of them! If you find a page with broken links or blurry images please contact us below with the page URL and we’ll try to fix that page sooner rather than later.

Please note that both Jonathan Farrington or Carly Hannaford are no longer involved in the running of this website as they are both busy running a busy “bricks & mortar” equestrian business back home in Australia ad no longer have the time to devote to Allied Equine.

About Us: Jonathan Farrington and Carly Hannaford have been involved with horses and equestrian sport for all of their lives and have been involved with all disciplines including dressage, eventing, showumping, sporting, and Prince Phillip Games.

Jonathan Farrington: Jonathan received his first pony at the age of 6 from Santa Claus and attended Pony Club in Victoria and competed in all disciplines on both ponies and horses. In 1991 he represented Australia at the International Prince Phillip Games Championships in Canada where the Australia team placed 3rd. He subsequently captained the Victorian Pony Club Team for the next two years, culminating in winning the National Pony Club title in 1992 in Perth.

During this time however, his passion for showjumping was growing and began competing at EFA shows from the age of 15. Over the last 15 years, Jonathan has trained and competed on many different horses from D Grade up to World Cup level.

In 2005, Jonathan & Carly decided it was time to make the sacrifice to travel to Europe and learn from the worlds best showjumpers. Both were priveledged to work and train with current World Champion Jos Lansink in Belgium. Whilst based in Belgium for 8 months, Jonathan rode and trained all levels of horses from 4 year olds up to Grand Prix level. He also competed on young horses at regional shows. During their stay in Belgium, they were approached by international Springbok showjumper Dominey Alexander, who subsequently invited them to visit and train with him in Johannesburg in South Africa. While based in Johannesburg for 3 months, Jonathan trained and competed at many national shows riding at all levels up to and including 1.50m classes.

Now back in the Adelaide Hills in Australia, he is in the process helping build on the success of Australian showjumping, while looking for that next superstar.
